The Elmhurst Sentinels Pathfinder Club
“In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
The Pathfinder Club is a worldwide organization sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, though young people, ages 10-15 of any religious persuasion are welcome. In the city of Elmhurst, Illinois stands the Elmhurst Sentinels Pathfinder Club.
Equipped with trained volunteers, many who are parents themselves, our club offers its members a wide range of engaging activities that help build a young person’s intellectual, physical, and spiritual foundation.
CURRICULUM
Our Pathfinder club regularly meets 2-3 times monthly during which members get to physically meet with one another with social interaction, study valuable spiritual lessons from the Bible, acquire a sense of responsibility and discipline, and learn practical life skills and hobbies.
HEALTHY LIVING:
While a healthy mind is key for a child’s development, a healthy body is just as crucial. Pathfinders enrolled in the club will learn the importance of building healthy habits such as staying physically active and getting proper nutrition.
OUTDOOR SKILLS:
They will also spend a great deal of time outdoors in nature, as they participate in activities such as camping and hiking. During these outings, Pathfinders will become familiar with survival skills that cannot be learned at home, ranging from fire-building to orienteering.
COMMUNITY SERVICE:
As Pathfinders acquire knowledge, learn valuable skills, and make lasting memories, we encourage them to also put these to good use by serving the community. All members will regularly assist in various forms of volunteer service and civic engagement, such as food drives and showing appreciation to our community leaders. But most importantly, in all our engagements, we strive to share the light of Jesus and the hope of His soon return to everyone we meet. We are Pathfinder Strong.
