Church Ministries
AUDIO/VISUAL MINISTRY
Audio/Visual Ministry meets the needs of church life by ensuring that all programs can be adequately seen and heard. Our team members have a passion for using technology to facilitate sharing the truths of the Bible with local and online attendees. A/V Ministry also maintains the church website and social media presence and we are always looking for new volunteers to help with camera operation, audio, stage management, and operating equipment. No experience is necessary to join the A/V ministry, just a willing attitude and teachable spirit. A/V Ministry works closely with the Communications Department of Elmhurst Church.
BIBLE WORK MINISTRY
Bible Work Ministry is ready to engage our members in one-on-one soul winning and Bible studies. If you are driven by a passion for spreading the gospel and winning souls to Jesus, you’ve come to the right place.
COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT
Our Communications Department has a three-pronged focus: Community Relations, Member Relations and Audio/Visual Ministry. Our purpose is to effectively communicate both the gospel message and the activities of the Elmhurst Church in a consistent, easy-to-understand fashion through a variety of mediums.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
It’s been said that our children are the future of the church, but in reality they are the church of today. Elmhurst’s Children’s Ministry recognizes this and seeks to teach our children how to be followers of Jesus while engaging them in church-related programs and activities. Programs range from Sabbath School (which is held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. each Saturday morning) to Sabbath afternoon vespers which is held every month.
COMMUNITY SERVICES
Our Community Service team has a passion for assisting those in need. During the holiday season, our annual Bags of Blessing food drive solicits food donations from the community around us and supplements those donations with fresh produce and dairy products providing meals for 100+ needy people in Elmhurst. In addition, we have access to affordable car repair and other resources for families in need.
GREETER/WELCOME MINISTRY
Every Sabbath our greeters and members welcome guests from across Elmhurst and around the world. First impressions are lasting impressions, so our greeters are carefully selected and trained to be attentive, pleasant, happy, and inviting. If you love meeting new people and want to be a part of this exciting ministry our friendly group of greeters is ready to cordially welcome you to one of the most social ministries at Elmhurst Church.
HEALTH & WELLNESS MINISTRY
Health & Wellness Ministries is concerned with the physical, mental, social, and spiritual health of the church and our community. To make a lasting difference we offer seminars on disease prevention, conduct health fairs, and host other health-related events throughout the year for all to benefit from and enjoy.

HOSPITALITY MINISTRY
Every Sabbath following the church service (and on other special occasions), our Hospitality Ministry facilitates a very important operation – the feeding of the masses! Combining a large variety of church member dishes, we always ensure our guests are made to feel comfortable and well fed.
MEN’S MINISTRY
Our Men’s Ministry meets the second Sabbath of every month. Our goal is to meet the spiritual needs of the men in the church through prayer and fellowship. We help men realize their spiritual gifts through Bible study and challenge them to understand the need for being great spiritual role models and witnesses for Christ.
MUSIC MINISTRY
Our Music Ministry department provides musical support for all worship services and church events, as well as coordinates and hosts special concerts to share the everlasting gospel through wholesome, high-quality Christian music.
Nursing Home Ministry
Our nursing home ministry goes to Elmhurst Extended Care the second Sabbath of each month. We refer to our ministry as Sunshine Band as our goal is to bring sunshine into the hearts of the residence. We sing together, read scriptures, have several special numbers and have prayer with them. We visit with each one individually. The most important message is that Jesus loves them and so do their friend from the Elmhurst church.
